MOM e-mail alerts have stopped... |
|
|
....We had a catastrophic hardware failure a few days ago, lost large
parts of the SAN, though the MOM server itself wasn't affected. All
problems resolved, new hardware in place, everything else is running
fine now, except that I'm receiving no e-mail alerts from MOM.
Our Exchange server has been replaced, and the server has a new name.
I changed the name of the Exchange server in MOM - Configuration >
Global Settings > Email server - but nothing is coming through. Has
anyone any ideas as to what the problem might be?
Thanks for any assistance

Hi Stephen
I had a similar problem a while ago when I first installed my MOM server.
My problem was that I forgot to enable relaying on the Exchange SMTP
server!! Since you replaced you Exchange server it's something you might
wanna hav a look at.

I have a similar problem...I had to rebuild MOM after the
database became corrupted. Ever since then, the email
alerting hasn't worked. I've entered the backend Exchange
server as well as the mail relay addresses - both to no
avail.
If your Exchange box doesn't accept anonymous relays,
trying pointing MOM to a mail relay that does accept
anonymous mail to see if that works. If not, do what I am
doing...wait to see what appears in the postings.

Does this solve it? |

You can also put the ip-addres of the mom server in the Exchange to be
allowed to relay
