Hi All

As I may well be installing Exchange 2003 this weekend for the first time on
the server (we have never used MS Exchange before).

I was wondering if any of you had anything you could share - such as Tips
and Tricks, or indeed, things NOT to do...!!??

Anything would be gratefully received...

Have a good weekend to you all.

Ken

Advice? Not sure, but I do have some questions:

1. Why did you not install Exchange when you first installed SBS?
2. Why are you installing it now? That is, what features are you expecting
to use?
3. Have you determined if you are uising POP3 to pull in your in mail, or
set up your MX record and use SMTP?

Hi Kevin

1) I installed everything when I installed SBS over Christmas - but we never
had Exchange before and I just wanted to give them exactly what they had
before they left for chr xmas holidays.... I am just going to set-it all
up.... perhaps Installing was the wrong word to use.

2+3) Yes I want to move away from POP3, I have spoken to my ISP and they
have given me all the info I need. I wanted to get exchange running before I
move everyone over, and its a little difficult to get anything done when
everyone is in the office - so I thought I would get Exchange Running today,
and then look at migrating users to it after the ISP has pointed my mail to
the server some time this week.

Ken.

Ditto Ken,

I too am installing MS Exchange this week after having had SBS 2003 up and
running for 1 year.
The reason we didn't install it initially is because we were not sure if it
required adminsitration and didn't want to
find out it did.

Having said that, we will be using a POP3 connector.
My specific concern is will the users current mail (inbox, address book,
contact list etc) remain intact?

And of course any and all advice is greatly apprecited.
