Re: Mandatory presence of a Domain (either AD or NT) |

Federico,
You are correct that the documentation never really states that MOM 2005 can
be suncessfully installed wihtout AD. This is an oversight on our part and I
will put this in the queue for the updates on the docs.
Without AD, the following features of MOM 2005 are not available:
- mutual authentication
- Reject manually installed agents (manually installed agents cannot be
blocked)
- Prevent agent proxying (agent will proxy)

prerequisite that imposes the presence of an Active Directory Domain ( or

the
Workgroup edition) is used.
So I installed the version of MOM 2005 to manage more than 10 agents
without
a Domain and everything seems to work but I need, anyway, to know if the
presence of an Active Directory Domain ( or a NT Domain ) is mandatory or
not.
Thank you a lot again !!! |
