MOM2005/SQL DB Question |
|
|
I'm encountering issues getting the email portion of MOM
working correctly. When attempting to send mail, I get an
error noting that the transport couldn't connect to the
server. On the MOM Reporting database, the error from the
event log says "Scheduling and Delivery Processor cannot
connect to the SMTP server '12345678' that is used for e-
mail delivery." Where is this value stored? The value is
incorrect.
Thanks in advance. |

Re: MOM2005/SQL DB Question |
|
|
The value that I need is listed correctly in the Global
Settings/Email Server in the Admin Console. However, on
the MOM server/Event log, there is no entry related to
mail delivery failure. On the MOM SQL DB machine, there
is an entry in the Event log noting that the schedule and
delivery failed. The value in that event log is incorrect.
MOM Admin Console setting: fohmlrl01
SQL DB setting: fohmlwp01
The correct setting is/should be fohmlrl01. This is the
error message I am getting on the MOM SQL database
machine: "Scheduling and Delivery Processor cannot connect
to the SMTP server fohmlwp01 that is used for e-mail
delivery." My question is - where is this value stored in
the SQL database?
Thanks.

Make sure that your SMTP server is accepting mail on port 25 and that your
mom server is authorized to use the SMTP server to send email.

Re: MOM2005/SQL DB Question |
|
|
I can telnet to port 25 on the mail server from the MOM
server...ping and dns resolve fine...the mail messages
from the MOM server never make it to the back-end Exchange
server/SMTP server/mail relay. The message never leaves
the MOM server.
At this point, I am thinking of blowing away the entire
application and starting fresh.

Is this that email smtp delivery issue the one with e2k3 and email
notifications? If so there is a fix from PSS for the bug.
