on one of our Windows 2003 servers, we are seeing an alert like the
following.

Severity: Warning
Name: Unable to monitor MOM Agent and MOM Host memory usage
Source: Microsoft Operations Manager
Owner:
Description: MOM failed to monitor memory usage of the MOM process.

Error value: 0x80041010

None of the things mentioned in the Product knowledge (wmiadap /f,
restarting the agent) have resolved the problem. Does anyone have any other
suggestions?

thanks
Ryan

You can issue this command on the server, wmiadap.exe /f which will fi
the problem atleast temp. The problem I has is that I am monitorin
over 200 domain controllers and they all have this error. I have trie
creating a task but it doesnt seem to push correctly. Error will com
back after reboots :

Thanks for the info. I also noticed that the problem continued even after
running wmiadap /f. On my problem machine, it appears the root cause was
that the Process performance counters were disabled on the server.

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PerfProc\Performance\Disable
Performance Counters" was set to 1. I set that to 0
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/248993), ran wmiadap /f and
restarted the MOM service on the agent and we haven't seen the problem
since. At this point, though, I am not sure why the performance counters
were disabled in the first place. This might be something to check in your
environment as well.

thanks
Ryan
