Re: Managment Packs |

While MOM2005 is faster then MOM2000, I don't think there's a significant
performance difference that comes from the MP's themselves. The MOM 2005
MP's tend to have fewer, but more compicated rules and sometimes more
scripts (for service discovery, health monitoring etc.). The MOM 2005 MP's
tend to be better designed at monitoring health as they are designed using
health modeling, but this is not a performance consideration.
The real performance difference is the reduction in non-actionable alerts
and better KB's. This leads to better IT performance - which is where it
really counts.

2005. I had someone tell me the other day that MOM 2005 runs faster with
Managment Packs that are specifically made for MOM 2005 and that it will
run
slower if MOM 2000 Manamgent Packs are used on a MOM 2005 server.
Am I missing something here? I though that they were just text files and
that the managment pack should not effect the MOM server that much? Can
anyone shed any light on the subject?
