HIS2k to 2004 update |
|
|
I'm entirely new to our environment at work an HIS, so please forgive me
because I don't know anything about HIS. I've had an app dumped on me which
uses HIS2000. Users are part of an old NT4 domain, make a Citrix connection
to a Win2000 server running HIS2000. There are 4100 users in the domain, and
each is a member (1:1 ratio) of a global group.
HIS appears to have 4100 "accounts" listed, each one being one of those
groups. Apparently each one of these "accounts" maps to an LU.
What we are doing is upgrading servers to bring them into Active directory.
What I need to know is, does HIS2000 play nicely with AD? Is there any way to
bulk change/import the new AD account information into HIS versus re-creating
those accounts by hand? Would HIS2004 eliminate this strange LU-to-group
mapping setup?
If anyone needs clarification just ask. Again I know nothing about LUs or
HIS... we have a unix team that deals with that stuff :) |

You can always script out the user configs using SNACFG.EXE, amend them, and
then update/add the new users by piping the relevant lines back in the same way.

fyi - We're talking mainframes here, not Unix.
