Clearing the Outstanding New Alerts in Product Connectors |
|
|
MOM 2005
In the Administration console under Product Connectors we have a Send to TEC
connector. We are sending events from the MOM DB server to the MOM Server
using iWave. There was a time out condition that caused a buildup of events
in the Product Connectors section for Send To TEC in the Outstanding New
Alers and the Outstanding Updates colums. There are over 800,000 in the
Outstanding Updates alone. Is there a way to clear those events out? When our
iWave connector is fixed, I dont want all of those events to be processed. I
am covering for a co-worker who is on vacation so I am not very versed in MOM
and iWave so please excuse the broad questions.
Thank You!

There should be an option in your Product Connector to Set BookMark. It sets
the bookmark to the current time. This would clear all the alerts/ updates
in the product connector cache and so you would not see those alerts/updates
get forwarded.

Thanks for the response. I actually got that answer from MS yesterday.
Clearing the events did fix the timeout with iWave that we were experiencing.
Aparently the iWave connector died and the events backed up. Turning the
iWave connector back on didnt clear the events because there were so many
events queued it was causing a time out. Can you say tail spin? MS and iWave
are working on the issue.
