Re: Computer Discovery |

If you had a rule for it previously and it was used to discover a computer,
then the computer will have that name in one or both of the following
columns of the Computer table: DNSName, and FQDN. If one of these names is
no longer valid, e.g. the domain was upgraded to an Active Directory domain,
the entry, "server.domain.com" may no longer be valid. If you can, try
searching Active Directory for that specific listing, chances are it doesn't
exist. When MOM queries AD for the entry, AD tells MOM that it can't be
contacted.
Hope this helps.

Everytime the discovery runs I get a message that "server.domain.com"
could
not be contacted but there is no discovery rule set for that name.
I think this is a hang over from the MOM 2000 upgrade when that discovery
rule did exist. |
