Greetings,
I'm running SBS 2003 Standard with Exchange in a small environment. I've
noticed that when email messages are sent from the client side they appear to
hang in the Outbox (Outbox remains in a bold state for approximately 30 - 40
sec). The messages still arrive at their destination even while the Outbox is
still bold. Also, if I click on another folder immediately after sending the
Outbox will appear to be normal (not bold). This happens both on vpn as well
as on the network. I just stopped McAfee (thinking that it was related to
antivirus software) but to no avail. Also, all message queues on the server
look fine.

Hi Doc,

What OS on the clients? They are not using personal folders, right?

Hi Marina,
The clients are running XP Professional with SP2 along with Outllook 2003
SP1 and no personal folders...

Hi Doc,

Add Outlook.exe to the exceptions in the Windows Firewall on those clients.
