If the websites do not need to share Catalogs, Marketing Systems or Orders
databases and they will not grow beyond needing two web servers to serve
the traffic then Standard Edition will allow you to have multiple websites
but they will be independent of each other.
Software Assurance is a great way for you to get the next couple of
releases of the product. We already have one in the works. Checkout

We are confused on which verion is right for us. We are planning on
creating
3 to 5 websites and will have the same backend. We are going to have some
different functionality on each site but all tied to the same backend
(Microsoft Navision). Can you create multiple websites with the Standard
Version? Also do i go with software assurance or not? I am not a fan of
paying for something upfront that may or may not benefit me. My take on SA
is that if the product is not going to come out for 2 years then i should
wait as i will have paid for a new version by then and not had to pay
upfront.
Thanks
