Hi Everyone,

Recently, we moved our site to a new staging server. Everything
appears to have gone okay, except that we get a peculiar error if we
access the new site:

"Exception Details: System.Exception: Component Execution failed for
component[0x7] hr: 0x80004005 ProgID: Commerce.OrderDiscount.1 The
CacheManager failed to populate the cache due to a previous error. The
cache load will not be attempted again until the RetryInterval has
elapsed or until RefreshCache is called. Previous error:
"Commerce.CSFLoadDiscounts: Cannot open database requested in login
'OurSite'. Login fails." (orderform=ProductBasket)"

The thing is, if we wait one or two minutes and click refresh, the
site loads perfectly, and will load perfectly for quite some time.
Another odd thing is that this error doesn't occur on our production
or development servers.

Does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this? I have
included the stack trace below:

One thing is that this error will not occur if you don't have the
discounts. So make sure you're testing with valid discounts on the
production and the development boxes.
Is it an ASP.NET or ASP site?

Thanks

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for your response. Oddly enough, our site does not have any
discounts. It is an ASP.NET site.

Perhaps the staging server has a discounts cache (incorrectly) configured
in its web.config?

Hope that helps,

madhur
