People that have posted screenshots to the web would be violating their NDA.
Occasionally pictures are strategically leaked...but that hasn't happened
yet. The public information that is available is that the Istanbul beta
starts sometime this month (in January).
Several folks in this newsgroup have probably seen the client, particularly
the Microsoft employees and the MVPs as well as employees working for
Microsoft Partners.
The next question may be "How can I see the client or get on the beta?"
If you have a LCS 2005 environment, check with a Microsoft rep or a
Microsoft Technical Account Manager to see if they can recommend you for the
Istanbul Beta. Remember that any Beta is a work in progress. If you do not
have a Microsoft rep, talk to your licensing vendor or VAR and have them
talk to their Microsoft licensing rep to get you recommended.
If you are from Germany (noticed the .de in your posting), check the
livecomm.de group and see if the MVP up there would recommend you.

As an aside, you have posted in this newsgroup before a few times.
Have you thought about posting any of the information about your LCS
experience with PSTN gateways and telephony?

Well, there is nothing much to say besides that -after some effort- it
works. :)
I am using SER to route calls out of and into LCS from an asterisk
(http://www.asterisk.org) box that terminates other VoIP and PSTN
connections. SER is converting the TCP SIP sessions into UDP sessions needed
by asterisk.
Basically it is a cheap way to bring all sorts of voice and video
connections from all kinds of sources into the LCS infrastructure.
Besides PSTN connectivity, I use it to bring H323 calls from and to another
source into to LCS, provide basic voice conferencing (a asterisk feature)
and terminate calls to other VoIP providers.
You could do a lot more, since asterisk and SER are quite flexible. The
limiting factor of course is the Windows Messsenger with its only very
basic telephony functions and the fact that you can not disable VAD. Hence
my question regarding Istanbul.
Do not hesitate to ask if you have more specific qouestions. :)
