Unable to Connect to SQL Server |
|
|
I am instal Live Comm 2005. I am at the state where a pool needs to be
created. But when I try to create the pool I keep gettings errors in
the log about not able to connect to the sqlserver.
Yes, I have installed MSSQLSERVER 2000, SP3A
Any help would be appreciated. |

Log into locally the SQL server with an account that has rights to SQL
(usually the account that installed it). Install the enterprise pool. This
is easier than attempting to do it remotely. For the instance, just put in
the SQL server name.

Apologies for the lack of clarity...
Log into the SQL server at the local console with a domain account that has
rights to administer the SQL server. Usually this is the account that
installed and upgraded the server. It is easiest to grant the account
installing LCS rights permissions to be a Server Administrator in SQL.
From there you should attempt to install the Enterprise Pool. I have found
that it is much easier to install the Enterprise Pool and Archiving on the
SQL server rather than attempting to perform the install remotely.
