Is there a Microsoft supported way to move the SQL RTC Instance/database
from one SQL server to another (new hardware and new name) and reconfigure
the servers to point to the database after it has been moved?
Is there a way to do the same for the archiving database and archiving
service?

A "swing migration" is not out of the question, but we would like to avoid
it, if at all possible.

If the answer is proprietary (PSS internal), but could be provided to an
organization with a support pack/call, can you let me know as well so that I
can pass it onto them?

Thanks in Advance,

Bob

Bob,
LcsCmd.exe exposes an action (UpdatePoolBackend) to change the backend
server associated with a pool.
I am not sure whether it works on the archiving database though....

thanks, dhigha...

I believe the steps for this are given in one of the deployment documents
(I'm not sure which one). Basically the steps involve:

- Stop EE servers
- Copy the RTC and RTCCONFIG databases to the new server
- Use UpdatePoolBackend action of LcsCmd to point the pool to the new
backend
- Start EE servers
