no "Continue Setup" on SBS 2003.... |
|
|
I have installed SBS 2003 from CD, letting it do everything it wants.
When it reboots, it doesn't give me the "Continue installing ...."
dialog...
OS is up and running, but the configuration wizard is nowhere to be
seen.
The Server MMC isn't in the start menu either...
Can't figure out anyway to finish....
Thought it might of been because I wasn't connected to a network, so I
connected and started from scratch... still no go....
This exact same thing happened when I last installed SBS 2000, but I
didn't know something else was supposed to happen, so just continued
installing everything manually... would prefer to let the wizards do
their magic this time...
Why isn't it starting? |

Nothing... even if I try to execute setup.exe or setupsbs.exe from the
CD, nothing happens...

Maybe some help...
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs/browse_frm/thread/10bc62162f1ffee8?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&rnum=3&prev=/groups%3Fhl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26q%3Dsbs%2B2003%2B%2522continue%2Bsetup%2522%2Bstops
<SNIP>
Go to Start -> Run, type %temp%, pressk OK. Now, delete everything there,
make sure all SITxxxx.tmp folders are gone. Now, put in CD1 and start the
integrated setup. If it failed again, could you post back errorlog.txt,
eventlog.txt, setup.log located in Program Files\Microsoft
Integration\Windows Small Business Server 2003\Logs. If you don't see them
there, they maybe in the temp directory.
<END SNIP>

temp dir was empty, as was log files...
Was able to correct problem (or avoid it, anyway) by replacing the
CDRW with a DVD/CDRW and installing from the DVD instead of CD.
Thanks,
