in-place upgrade from NT4 Domain to 2003 AD question |
|
|
Hi all
I'm planning an in-place upgrade, as stipulated in the subject, and have
been told by a colleague that I'll experience problems as some (actually
~400) of the NT4 domain object names contain an underscore. e.g. username =
Jim_Bowen, or group name = Bullys_star_prize
I've performed a number of in-place upgrades without any problems; none of
which have had underscores used in such away. So, my question is this. Do I
shake the hand of my colleague, for pointing out a potential nightmare of a
problem, and buy him a beer? or Do I slap him about the head, telling him
not to give me any advice every again, the damned moron?
Has anybody performed an in-place upgrade on an NT 4 domain that contain
userids with underscores? If so, what happened?
Thanks for your help |

Start slapping.... I just finished one with a client with about 20 user
names and group names with underscores.
Nothing happened.
Cheers!

Hello Scott,
There is no specific requirements on the user name. I have tried to add new
users using the underscores like James_Bond and _Bond, both are ok in the
2003 domain.
Please don't worry about it.
Further questions, let us get in touch!
Best regards,
