This calls for Administator on both sides.

It is intimately involved in the workings of both domains
so it is doubtful that anything (practical) which is less
will work.

While it is theoretically conceivable you could reduce
them, there were still be plenty of privilege for that user
to elevate themselves back to Admin so there is no
value in seeking lessor permissions.

Hello David,

To migrate computers, you have to get the permissions as follows:
Source Domain: Domain administrator or administrator in the source domain
and on each computer
Target Domain: Delegated permission on the computer OU and local
administrator on the computer on which ADMT is installed.

Processes are slightly different regarding the real environment with
one-way trust or two-way trust.
You can have more information in the following article.

guide/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/windowsserv/2003/all/de
ployguide/en-us/dssbg_rent_nvwd.asp

Hope it helps. Any updates, let us get in touch!

Best regards,
