RE: Win2000 to win2003 with Exchange2000 to Exchange2003 |

Hello,
I have not quite caught your meaning.
Do you mean you have two Win2k DCs with the original name "mycompany.com",
is "mycompany.com" the Domain name or the DNS name? If it is the domain
name, how did you change the domain name?
According to my knowledge, we cannot change win2k domain name, however, we
can change DNS name as described in KB below:
How to Rename the DNS Name of a Windows 2000 Domain
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q292541&
Is there any particular reason to use "mycompany-llc.com" as DNS name? We
recommend you use the same domain and DNS name and install DNS as
AD-integrated DNS. Pease refer to the following article to gather the
MSPReport on your existing DCs and send the report to v-rebc@microsoft.com
for research so that I can have a clear idea about the network
configuration.
Overview of the Microsoft Configuration Capture Utility (MPS_REPORTS)

If you want to perform an in-place upgrade from Windows 2k to 2k3 as well
as Exchange 2k3. I assume you have Exchg 2k installed. If so, you need to
upgrade the OS first since Exchange 2k is not supported on win2k3 server.
The following article has detailed how to upgrade win2k to win2k3 DC:
How to upgrade Windows 2000 domain controllers to Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=325379
for the Exchange upgrade part, please post the question to
microsoft.public.exchange.setup newsgroup and the Exchange guy will provide
more accurate information.
Any update, let us get in touch!
