Hi,

We just migrated the NT 4 PDC to Windows 2003 DC domain last week,
today I realized that there are Compaq Array Utilities is not running
probably, I think it is because this utilities is not compatible with
Windows 2003. I am wondering if I have to rebuild to box in order to
have the clean Windows 2003 domain.

Currently there are only one 2003 DC and one NT BDC in the domain, I am
thinking of install second 2003 DC and transfer all the FSMO roles into
the second 2003 DC (which has to include NT emulator, for down level
compatibility). And then I could rebuild the first box.
Any help is greatly appeciated.

Fshguo.

Hello Daniel,

Since Compaq Array Utilities is a third party tool which is developed and
maintained by Compaq, I suggest that you consult Compaq for more
information to make sure whether the Compaq Array Utilities tool you used
is compatible with Windows 2003. For your convenience, I have searched and
found the latest version, please try it to check the status:

Note: Please pay attention to the Windows Server 2003 Edition.

Your plan to have a clean Windows 2003 domain sounds good. If the problem
is only related to the Compaq Array Utilities, it is better to consult
Compaq first and then decide the next step.

In addition, the command "winnt32 /checkupgradeonly" can help you check the
hardware and software compatibility with the Windows 2003 before you
upgrade NT to win2k3.

More information is available in the following article.

Any update, let us get in touch!
