Hello, I have a Win2k server that I want to upgrade to Win2k3 w/exchange
server, but I can't decide whether to upgrade or format & reinstall; The
latter may be an option because if amateur setup and maintanance of the
server in the past, and/or because of volume sizes -- currently, the c drive
is 8gb (50% free), and the d drive is 26gb (80% free).

What are the space requirements for Win2k3 and exchange, or at least what
would be the reccomended volume size for such a setup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!i

Exchange and AD can easily co-exist on 8 GB for
small and maybe even medium companies (ignoring
the issue of large mailboxes which can be separately
stored.)

In general, if there is large company or performance it
going to be an issue you aren't going to want the data
stores on the same HARD DRIVE even so it's not that
big a deal probably.

Excellent, thank you!

I'm currently doing a test install to a virtual pc to compare 2003 standard
vs. enterprise; I have both available to me, and I think I remember better
tools being part of the enterprise; Any good reasons why I shouldn't go with
the enterprise edition?

Thanks in advance!

No, other than it costs more (you seem to already own it)
or if you need NONE of the extra features.

There is really very little difference to MOST people.

Some of the big Enterprise level services (Exchange, SQL,
etc) won't run on standard but if you won't run them there
are few major differences for the average hardware.

As to tools, they are virtually the same
