i have seen this Article written from David Cross
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/plan/pkienh.mspx#EDAA

Can i Archive a SmartCard certificat (eToken) with the same way ?
i know that the private key of smart card is created in eToken !

this can be usefull if somebody lost his etoken to be able reading his
crypted mails !

If you're asking about Aladdin's eToken product (the only thing I know of
called "eToken"), then I'd recommend contacting Aladdin to see what they'd
recommend about key archival and recovery.
