I'm running Windows2003 Server. I have a VB6 app that shells to an exe (on
the server's own hard drive)...for some reason it brings up a security
dialog box and I have to click "Open" to allow the shelled exe to run. I run
this VB6 program all the time so it's a bit of a pain as the exe gets called
in the middle of the program and I have to remember to go to the server and
click the darned box.

I adjusted IE's security to "Full Trust" for the intranet and when that
didn't work I switched to custom and made sure nothing was set to
"Prompt"...still doesn't work.

What am I missing? Is there some registry setting I need to change? Thanks.

I don't know if this will help but you can go to add and remove programs -
Windows Components and find and remove Internet Explorer enhanced security.
I think you can remove it for all users or just administrators. It will of
course reduce IE security settings quite a bit. The other thing is to take a
look at the options in advanced settings to see if you can find anything
there. The link below explains the IE enhanced security settings for Windows
2003 which may be helpful. Also see the last link on how to unhide the "My
Computer" Web Content Zone in case that is the problem. --- Steve
