Theoretically yes, But make sure to do some validations.

Hi,
We have a Commerce 2002 Site which is integrated with Navision through
BizTalk 2002. To handle order status notifications from Navision we use the
tracking number generated by commerce server during the order confirmation
field.
To locate the order for which the status needs to be update a call to
OrderGroupSearch is made using the tracking number and order date as the
fields. Can I improve the performance of this search if I were to index the
tracking number field in the database ?
