Hi, I'm a beginer with DFS and FRS and have a big problem.

I have created a dfs link under root DFS and have
configured to replicate it in one folder(lets call it
destination) . After 10 min a
DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory is created on the
detination folder with all files under it. After 20 min
the detination folder is empty and the source is
unchanged. Where are the destination files ????
Please help ASAP , its very important...

Are there any events in the File Replication Service event log of
either machine?

--Richard

Please post FRS related questions to
microsoft.public.windows.server.dfs_frs and prefix the subject line
with "FRS:" to make it easier to spot. Note that FRS is used to
replicate SYSVOL on domain controllers and DFS root and link targets.

For additional FRS resources, please visit
http://www.microsoft.com/frs.

Hi!

That folder is used by NTFRS, to perform operations with files before moving
them into the final destination (let's put it that way).

What is the operating system and service pack level here?

Take a look at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;811217

That's were you should be concerning FRS...

Please let us know about the events as well.

Cheers!

Nian Ren
