Problem DFS across multiple domain in a same forest |
|
|
hi
I've got 2 domains B.MYCOMPANY.COM C.MYCOMPANY.COM
child of a third one ....
Even if I'm loging as enterprise admin,
I create a domain DFS on B \\B.MYCOMPANY.C\mydfs
and an another on C \\C.MYCOMPANY.C\mydfs
when I try to put the second one as a root replica, dfs wizard asks me for a
server,
I put the name of the server where I want to put the dfs hosting (eg
theserver.C.MYCOMPANY.C, result :
"the server theserver.C.MYCOMPANY.C does not belong to the domain specified
earlier."
Any idea ?

The root targets for a domain-based root must be in the same domain. On the
other hand, you can point links to targets that are in different domains and
forests, assuming your cross-forest trusts are set up correctly.
